My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.

I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.

If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for

My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?

This! I noticed this past week google meet would randomly make calls while i texted. Seems his is a Google issue and not a Samsung issue.

Yes, disabling "Meet" by Google allows me to reply to text messages now!  Thank you!

Note that I have never used "Meet" by Google on my Samsung Flip Z 4 phone before.

Here are the steps that I did to disable "Meet" by Google: I needed to go through a "+" list of all possible phone apps, select "Meet" (which was not selected before), find that "Meet" now appears in the Google collection of apps, press and hold on "Meet", and then select the "Disable" option to disable "Meet".

After doing those steps, my phone now works correctly (the way is used to work), and I can now reply to text messages without my text reply window automatically closing after about 2 seconds.
