Microsoft Vs Google - where are we headed?

Samsung Apps and Services
Years ago Samsung started a venture with Microsoft, so now our Gallery and backups are synced to OneDrive, Samsung Notes with OneNote, etc. This was great because many organizations use Microsoft enterprise.

However, with the recent Google Gemini partnership, it seems we're getting into a mess of ecosystems. Microsoft has Copilot that works with Microsoft apps and services (Word, Outlook, Onenote, etc) but Google Gemini Live integrates with Google Docs, Gmail, etc.

So..my question is, where are we headed? Syncing files and data to Microsoft but having Gemini that essentially doesn't work with those services is a bit...short-sighted and will significantly limit its capabilities. Anybody have any insight?

Samsung has been in collaboration with Google for years, that is nothing new.

Of course, but we're in a position now where our voice assistant will coerce people to move to Googles office ecosystem, not Microsoft, which is the current preferred ecosystem

The current leader, so preferred, is Amazon's AWS. Then Microsoft and Google. IME many companies are tired of having to deal with Microsoft's susceptibility to bugs.

Amazon doesn't have an office suite, so this is a bit of a moot point

You can just choose not to use any of the AI interfaces.

Sure, but this is a bit dismissive to the problem. We've got two feature endorsements by Samsung that directly compete with eachother

I would guess, then you would use the one whose apps you interface with more than the other, or use the interface that goes with the app you are currently using.  People keep bellyaching about wanting more choices of which apps and features they get to use, so now they have choices.

That's fair, but the issue again is in order to get the full functionality of one service I have to sacrifice another. This would make sense for 3rd party services but as a manufacturer it's frustrating that Samsung is batting for both competitors at the same time. They're dividing their ecosystem.

So, here's the thing.  I would think that Microsoft & Google would have to battle it out or combine their functionality.  Samsung is only a vessel. Since some people and organizations favor Google and some favor Microsoft, Samsung wants to keep or expand market share and will utilize both ecosystems.  Not sure they really have a choice in the matter, though, just like we, the consumers, don't.  If I use a Microsoft product I get co-pilot interference, whether I want it or not and no way to turn it off.  If I use a Google product, I get Gemini interference, with also no way to turn it off -- let's not even get started on Meta's AI.  Opening one brand's apps will automatically get you those interfaces, whether it's supported or not by the device manufacturer.  I, for one, resent any of it being forced on me, but I have learned to ignore it.  It's going to be an AI circus for quite a while until they either merge, learn to play nice with each other, come out dominant, or get banned.
