Screen wakes when receiving notifications

Whenever I get a notification my screen turns on for a second before shutting off and it is more annoying than useful but I can't find a way to shut it off. I know that you can use brief notifications to only show the pop up while the screen remains off but I don't like using them while I'm actively using my phone. Please, let me know if there's a way to fix this or how can I request Samsung to add the availability to stop screen wake from notifications.

On the Samsung Members app, in the bottom right corner, there is a button labeled "Support." Once you click on that, scroll down a little and click on the "Send feedback" button. From there, I was able to submit the request. If you're not using the Samsung Members app, I'm not sure where exactly you need to go, but I imagine it's a similar process.
