This was a major motivator for buying a Samsung TV.  As I'm sure it was for many.  I have to question Samsung marketing on this one.  As popular as Steam is, and the extraordinary usefulness of this app, why doesn't Samsung commission Valve to write an app for their TV? Or, as suggested on some of the boards, leave it available as is.

What about it Samsung?  Are you willing to give up a large purchase base over this app?  It would be interesting to know how many people bought a Samsung for this app alone.

The decision came from Valve, not Samsung. Better to direct your feedback in Gabe's direction since Samsung doesn't have a say in that.

that sucks. I know its available on the playstore so you could just download it from there and cast it to your tv.

Inside a separate app store (not the Google's PlayStore) you might be able to continue to use your app just not sure of functional ability

Try looking (at your own risk) in the FDROID store with its repositories. Plus you can add other repos but again just do your own research on it

There is a decent app called OBTAINIUM

Where you can continue to update apps from the vendor. Like from GitHub or website URL

I warn you that these suggestions I'm giving might not be what you specifically need but I hope it might help.

Loading apps by SIDELOADING is a risk for sure. But you can decide if you are technology savvy enough to do it.

A lot more people are doing it, including uninstalling bloat you don't care about that was automatically loaded on your phone
