Samsung Apps and ServicesWhy would you buy something that you don't know what it is? A dongle is merely a generic term for a device (or adapter) that attaches to another device to allow yet another device to be connected and used. A dongle can be a hub if it has multiple ports, or it can be a single port attachment. For instance, a Bluetooth dongle can be attached to a device that does not have Bluetooth in order for a Bluetooth device to be used. The words dongle and adapter can be used interchangeably.
