@sson VideoScan is part of the OS. If you go into phone settings -> Apps and enable system apps you will see it.

thank you! I check my battery usage every day. I just replaced my fold recently, and now this shows up, so I wondered what it was

It may be a system app, but what does it do?  I have never seen it show up in my battery usage stats.  Is it part of the app protection that scans videos for malware?  I don't have videos and I have my own protection app for the phone.
