If I unplug my Tab A8 & don't use for a short while, like 2 hours, when I pick it up the battery is dead. Anybody else got that problem?

What is the history of this tablet? How old is it and have you been charging it daily to 100%, not using any battery protection for several years? This will cause the problem you have described.

I think you nailed it. I only started using battery protection. Anything else to try?

No, your battery is permanently damaged by wear. Please mark my previous reply as your accepted solution so others can see it too.
