Hello! Thank you for reaching out, I completely understand your concerns with the S pen not connecting to the S8 tablet. 

Can you check your case If the back of the tablet comes into contact with a magnet, the S Pen may not be recognized.

Verify that your case, or other accessories, are not magnetic.

If any of them are magnetic, remove that accessory and then try reinserting the S Pen.

If the issue still occurs then the unit will need to be serviced. For service information or to set up repairs: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/

Thanks for the information. After 24 hrs my s-pen is connecting and charging.

The next day the spen again would not connect to my tablet.

The S-Pen has the same warranty as the tablet.  Use the Samsung Members app to submit an error report and start a warranty action of needed.
