Hi, I and many other people are users of the Samsung Note app with pen on S6 lite tablet. The Samsung Note app is the reason we bought the tablet (we use it for college or work). Many people after the November 4, 2024 update encountered a problem when writing with pen: writing with pen became very slow, making it impossible to take quick notes. We all bought this tablet to use it at work or university, so we bought this tablet at a significant price precisely because of the promised quality in the writing function. It is completely unacceptable that this functionality is presented at such an unsatisfactory level. Such poor performance (like the one we are experiencing after the Samsung Notes update) is not acceptable for a Samsung brand product. On behalf of everyone, I kindly request an urgent release of an update that fixes this issue.

I await your news.

Thank you.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I tried to turn off the extended ram feature but unfortunately the problem is still there. I reached out the support and they suggested to contact the Error Team, sending them a feedback via Samsung Member app. Now I’m waiting an answer from them. Meanwhile, for everyone that has encountered this problem of lag while writing in Samsung Notes, I also suggest them to send a feedback via Samsung Members. So maybe if they see a lot of reportings, they will consider this problem more important and solve it:

Open the app Samsung Members:

Go to Support (bottom of the screen):

Select “send feedback”:

Select create new feedback (pencil on the bottom right):

Consent to the collection of log data. Select the correct section (I chose “App”). Describe the problem, and tick the option “Send system log data”:

Then send the feedback:

Thanks.

I, along with many other Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite users, am writing to address a critical issue with the Samsung Notes app following the November 4, 2024, update. The app's pen input performance has drastically slowed down, making it nearly impossible to take quick notes effectively.

Hi, if you haven’t done so yet, I suggest writing to the feedback center via the Samsung Members app (you can find the steps in the post above). I reported the issue to them, and a few days ago they informed me that they had forwarded the report to the Development Team. If many people report this issue, the Development Team might notice a high volume of reports, consider it more seriously, and resolve it sooner.

Before submitting your report, make sure the issue persists even after trying the following steps:

  • Clear the cache of Samsung Notes;
  • Ensure you have the latest versions of Android and Samsung Notes;

If the problem still persists after these steps (this is most probably), write your report emphasizing that you have already cleared the cache and confirmed that you have the latest versions of Android and Samsung Notes. (If you don’t mention this, they will reply asking you to try these steps, as they did with me).

By specifying that you’ve already performed the aforementioned steps, they will likely understand that the issue is related to the latest update and will directly forward your report to the Development Team.

Hi, I faced the same problem with my Samsung s6 lite and found a solution by reversing back to the previous version of the app. I will tell you the steps I followed and this might help you. Please follow at your own risk, I am not an expert. Just found a solution by trial and error.

1. Back up all your notes to Samsung cloud : You can do this by going to settings and enabling sync with Samsung cloud. Make sure to wait until all the notes are backed up. (If you have Samsung notes app in your mobile phone, sign in to the same account and you will see all the synced notes from your tab, through your phone. That way you can be sure that all the notes are synced)

2.  Uninstall Samsung notes from your tab: When I go to App info of Samsung notes app, there was no option to uninstall it. Then I went to play store and searched for Samsung notes. Fortunately, there was an uninstall button. It seemed like by clicking that, we can uninstall the latest update that has been done on the app. Once you uninstall it, there will be an option to download the app again. Once you do that, the app will be in its old version(version before the latest update). In my case, this solved the problem. The writing became normal. However, there is more to do.

3.  Get the backed up files: Go to settings and enable sync with Samsung cloud(if it is not enabled). Now, the files will come to your tab automatically from the cloud. You will start to see your previous folder structure being created and the note files being downloaded.

4. Disable auto update for Samsung notes in both play store and Galaxy store.

5. Do not update Samsung notes: Since  you went back to a previous version, you will see notifications to update the app. I tried the update and it made it lag again. So do not do it!

I struggled a lot with this issue and hope this would help someone!

This worked for me thank you so much <3.

I also manually backed up my notes by selecting them all and saving them as a Samsung notes file in a local folder before deleting the updates in google play store. Since I had problems in the past with Samsung notes not syncing properly.
