Do you you have to buy it with service from one of the BIG 3 ? I've been waiting for the release of the S9 and am kinda wondering if Samsung’s prerelease sale will have the same sort of caveat. I bought my ZFold 4 unlocked last summer from Samsung directly and am thankful that I'm not married to one of these carriers anymore. Does anyone know about or buy a tablet last summer from Samsung with cellular service capabilities that was unlocked?

There's only a locked variant available. There is no such model number as SM-X808U1 (for the Unlocked variant).
