Earlier today I used Nearby Share to transfer a file from my Moto G Power to my Tab S8. I would regularly use the Nearby Share functionality to easily and quickly move things between my two devices.
I tried again later today, the Nearby Share button is gone and my tablet proudly announces it's part of their "Quick Share" app and now the two devices cannot see each other!
The only option is to use a QR Code to give my phone a *Cloud* link but I'm still left with no way to send from my phone to my tablet anymore!
I haven't updated my device in months and this invasive change occurred in the background even as I was using my tablet. Outrageous. I guess my only time buying a Samsung mobile device will also be my last.

Samsung and Google reall fudged this up. Quickshare has always been a joke. I know I have had galaxy devices since the S4 in 2013.

Nearby share worked flawlessly for me on my windows 11, galaxy note10+5g and my google pixel1.

Now they are all fudged up. the only device that does work is the one I do not use, and that is the old Galaxy Note 8 I have. I use it to see the video from my DJI Drone.

these people doing this are incompetent. I have wasted many hours with Samsung support. To the point they grabbed a demo Note10+5g in their office and discovered that Quickshare did not work!!!

Even with the QR code, it generally says file upload failed. **bleep**

How did this happen? It happened to my tablet as well. Nearby share just disappeared from my tablet overnight?
