Washers and Dryers

i bought Model DVER8500AV dryer 8 mths ago. when i was done drying a load, i would open the dryer door, remove clothes, and leave the door slightly ajar rather than closing it completely so that the door wasnt closed (a fire hazard) when it was unattended. the drum light would come on when i opened it to remove the clothes and after about 2-3minutes it would shut off. it now stays on and will not auto shut off unless i close the door tight. how can i fix this?

Hello! Thank you for reaching out! I understand how this can be frustrating with your drum light not turning off automatically. Since this is occurring I would recommend trying to unplug and replug up the dryer and see if this will solve the issue.

After that the next step would be service to have this issue solved. You have a couple of options based on your warranty.

- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service set up.
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators or you can call in directly at 1-800- 726-7864 with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, you can use this link below to find a service center in your area.
