A Series & Other MobileHi all, I used my phone with wet hands and after pulling it apart, I can see that the water damage indicator is red under the SD tray. I assume some water went into the LCD/touch screen assembly as I can't see any obvious water damage on the main board (sub board damage indicator is un-tripped).
When booting and after unlock, the phone screen is dim, green tinted, flickering with ghosting - the touchscreen has lost function in a small strip around half a cm along the right side.
I've checked the diagnostics with red/green/blue and my red comes out orange, green is green but blue is purple, so clearly there's some water damage issue, the bottom of the LCD gets hot.
The weird thing is that the lock screen looks absolutely fine... the colours are normal and vivid and the brightness is normal too.
Are there multiple modes that the LCD can be in, and is there any way to lock the LCD to the mode that the lock screen uses? Not sure if this won't cause the LCD to run hot and drain my battery, but I'm trying to understand how the lock screen can look completely fine and bright, but once unlocked the LCD is a mess?

A Series & Other MobileHello Charleh, Welcome to the Community. We understand the concern with the screen flickering and dimming. For water damage, service is recommended.
This article contains some steps you can try: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-to-do-if-the-screen-on-your-device-is-flicker...
You can also try clearing the cache partition and repairing the apps in the recovery menu.
To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.
- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.
If the screen continues to flicker and dim, it is recommended to have the phone evaluated by an authorized service center. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.
