I can see all files on my PC for my S20+. The phone screen is dead. Can I simply move all files and folders to my PC, then copy them on my new phone? Not sure if there are any system files that also need to be transferred.

Thanks.

Contacts are uploaded to your google account unless you specify when making the contact to be stored on the phone only.  I can't seem to find a file dir that contains the contacts I just test created so once you sign into your google account they should auto populate into the contact app you can also go to https://contacts.google.com/

On your mew phone or old phone? Which account? Samsung usually sends a push notification to your device and an email, not a text. Google doesnt send codes, it sends a push notification and an email, and you have to confirm it's you by tapping "yes".

Reinstalling your apps will link to your data as long as you sign in with the same account. Do you not have a backup you can restore?

That's the problem sometimes on new devices Samsung will require a 2fa code that was sent to the previous device to verify its you signing into your account the only way is to use a Backup code listed on your Samsung account since you can't access the code that was pushed to your old device

You can go to Samsung.com

Click on your profile picture in the top right

Select Samsung Account

Security

Click the > beside of 2FA

I would suggest using the backup code that it lists

Yeah, I actually much prefer the code either by text or email than those push notifications, even though I understand the reason for them. All 2FA is inconvenient, much rather use an authenticator code which most password managers have baked into their apps now.

yeah I got locked out a few days ago and had to use the backup code myself.  I also have the Authenticator app on my device setup to it so I don't need to backup codes anymore

ok, found the contacts on my other gmail. But, I set up a new google account on my phone  because of that 2-step verification that failed. So I need to transfer contacts from 1 google account to the 1 now on my phone.

If you go to https://contacts.google.com/ and on the top right you will see a export option save the file and then go to https://contacts.google.com/ on your new account and click the import button and select the file you just downloaded and it should import all of your contacts to your new account

Ok, almost there. The contacts show in my text app, but they are not in the phone app. How do I do that?
