Photo format

A ll my photos and videos are now HEIC or HEVC files and not jpegs or mp4s. Why has this happened. I use my pics in videos from my phone all the time, but now that this has happened my computer won't recognize them. I would like for my photos, taken by me from a phone I purchased to be in standard formats like jpeg, mp3, mp4, and such.

You need to open the camera settings Scroll down to Advanced picture settings and toggle off high efficiency pictures and all future picture will be in jpeg

Camera settings > Advanced Picture Options > Turn off "High Efficiency Pictures".
