Screen won't rotate

The screen will not rotate when I turn the phone sideways.

Do you have auto rotate turned on? If it's off, the icon in your quick panel will say "portrait". Tapping it will change it to auto rotate. If you want the home screen and/or lock screen to rotate, long press the icon and select it .
