A Series & Other MobileHello the7,
Thank you so much for posting and welcome to the Samsung Community. We understand you touch screen will become inoperable and charging or restarting sometimes helps. There are many factors that affect how well touchscreens perform. Please, double check that your screen protector is not causing this issue. Some third party screen protectors may not work properly. Remove the screen protector if it is peeling or shows debris. If you are keeping the screen protector you may increase the touch sensitivity to your device. Go to Settings> Display> tap the switch next to touch sensitivity.
Sometimes full screen gestures may cause this issue because the touch is being recognized as a gesture. To stop this from happening disable full screen gesture function. Go to Settings> tap Display> Navigation bar> tap the button to disable full screen gestures.
If you are still having issues with your touch screen please reset your settings.A factory data reset will remove all data and restore your unit to factory settings. Please, Back up all your data and important information before performing a Factory Data Reset. Go to Settings> General Management> Reset> select Factory Data Reset> tap Reset> tap Delete all> enter your Samsung account to complete, and your device will reset to the initial set up process.
If your touch screen is still not working properly we recommend evaluation by a certified technician. For service in the U.S., you can take the phone to a local U.S. walk-in service location https://www.ubreakifix.com/samsung or to ship the phone in for service, please reach out to us via one of the following options:
