A Series & Other MobileT when I turned on my phone this morning I was greeted by an apparent Samsung update notification containing a link to update. It said that if I chose not to download the update it would be automatically download "at" Sunday on such and such date. The "at" Sunday" (as opposed to "on Sunday") combined with other potentially questionable grammatical usage made me hesitant to hit the"update" button.
How do I verify the authenticity of a supposed update notice?

In wouldn't click any pop up like that. Instead just go to phone settings -> Software Update -> Download and install. If there is a real update, it will be there.

If it's the monthly update or a software update for example you would get a notification that a update is available to be sure it's real goto software update and check
