Voice in Google maps stop working

I have a A53 5g cell. Several months ago, the voice on Google maps quit. Occasionally it gives 1st direction, but mostly just silence. I've tried every suggestion on the internet, and taken it to the xfinity store twice. A couple days ago I installed Waze, hoping that would work. Nope. Help!

What about trying Google Go maps to test if it works? You could always shake to send feedback to Google dev they need to be aware of that issue. Activate shake button in settings.

Not seeing a shake button in settings? Google Go maps is an app, I assume? I'll try it, but if Google maps and waze don't work I wouldn't think Google go would work

Do you have modes and routines set up that would make the audio silence when it detects driving? I'll have to look deep, but there are settings that I saw that could turn off the audio. I'll look

Under android auto, there's a Google assistant option and by default it silenced apps without me ever using it and it automatically set up driving mode. Check if you have driving mode and make sure the Google maps app is excluded from being silenced. If that doesn't work, I have no clue sorry.
