After the BIOS update that was pushed out, Windows can no longer find the battery. That means it no longer shows up on the task bar, the battery settings, the about device settings, or a battery report through the terminal. That means I can no longer check to see how much battery I have while I am working, until the machine dies. As far as the OS is concerned there is no battery installed in the laptop. Yet if I use apps like Battery Meter to check the battery it will say I have no battery installed, but my battery is 255%. I have seen others reporting similarly on Reddit.

ComputersI have the same problem, did anyone ever find a solution? It's quite a critical problem, why isn't there urgent action being taken by Samsung/Microsoft?
Am I the only one who also cannot read USB-C devices or adaptors anymore?

ComputersI also have this issue. My USB C and Battery are not working as expected. The battery DOES charge (or at least hasnt died) but I have no way to view its remaining life span. I also cannot use my USB C Devices.
Please fix this.

ComputersI was about to ask the same. USB-A fine. USB-C charging only. I can work around that but not the battery issue. I've also noticed that the battery drains quickly in standby.

ComputersI was having the same issue as you all and i managed to fix it by rolling back one specific Samsung controller driver, that did conflict with windows by hiding the Qualcomm usb-3 controller. It still does seem more a windows problem more than a firmware/BIOS problem because the battery indicator in windows is very flaky, reporting is some places wrong battery status, and when unplugged wrong percentages.
And another issue is than some times, in some menus, internet connectivity status is wrongly reported.
You'll have to manually rollback the driver in device manager.
P. S.: You obviously don't have do to that, you can wait for who knows for how long and get the right update, or just implement this as a temporary fix.

ComputersThe Roll Back option for this driver is greyed for me. How did you perform the rollback?
Edit: not a "clean" rollback, but when I deactivate the driver and turn it back on, my laptop instantly detects the battery again. The battery menu is back into Settings, the laptop is charging correctly, though the battery icon is still not showin up in the taskbar. This fix doesn't keep up when restarting the laptop, but it is a temporary fix of sorts.

ComputersThank you TimX for the quick temporary fix! This allows me to do my work properly again on my 16" Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge. In addition to your explanation @TimX : After performing your rollback steps make sure that:
* After each Windows OS reboot, please make sure to go to: Windows Device Manager -> System Devices -> Disable the ' Samsung EmuEC Device' and then Enable it again.
* This action forces Windows 11 to recognize the battery AND USB-C devices again.
So far this temporary fix works perfectly for me.
ADDITION for SAMSUNG -> One thing is for sure:
I'm not buying any more Samsung laptops after this one. Not even considering the Intel or AMD alternatives. Most likely I will be going back to Apple MBP as these machines have worked PERFECTLY for me in the past. Apple MacBook Pro's are far superior laptops compared to ANY Samsung laptop. **bleep** even Macbook Air's are faster, more reliable and WAY better in BATTERY LIFE.
