Hi!

I've got a weird issue that I think had to be driver related. My Book4 Edge worked fine out of the box for about two weeks, but then suddenly would boot to a black screen. I can see the Samsung logo as it loads the bios, but then nothing. I troubleshot the best I could, but didn't find a solution so I reset it. Again, it worked fine for about two weeks, then the same issue cropped up. Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Thanks!

Glenn

Hello! Thank you for reaching out! I see how this can be a cause for concern with your laptop having a black screen. Just want to confirm have you tried running it stock after resetting it? Mainly just to make sure that no downloaded programs could have caused this error. I would also recommend trying to disable fast startup you can do that by going to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable > Uncheck Turn on fast startup. I would also recommend to make sure that all drivers are up-to-date using the Samsung updater on the pc or using the following link to help.

If none of this helps then service will be required, depending on your warranty you will have a few options.

- If your device was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service processed.
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators or you can call in directly at 1-800- 726-7864 with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, for depot type products (Soundbars, Home Theater Systems, tablets, ect.) that require to be shipped we recommend you speak with our depot team for pricing and to have the service set up: 1-310-669-4334.

how do you "reset it?"

If you get the black screen, you can follow the instructions here -

Samsung PC has a blank or black screen

By interrupting the boot sequence, you can get into the recovery menu. From there, one of the options is to reset the machine and basically reload Windows from scratch. If Windows is reloaded, it works fine... for awhile.

I've got a Galaxy Book4 last week and mine is already showing this same problem, every now and then it boots to a black screen, sometimes just showing the cursor,  sometimes just the black screen. Doesn't matter if I turn it off and back on, or use the commands given in other threads, it will just boot up whenever it feels like it.

Most likely turning this in and getting a lenovo or something.

Need to check if the device is recovered or not after resetting PC.

Pressing F8 while booting > Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Keep my files > Local reinstall > [Reset]
