You may try to factory reset it. If that doesn't fix it, I may be damaged and needs repairs

It seems like you're encountering issues with the fingerprint scanner on your Galaxy Z Fold 4 after updating to One UI 6.1.1. This kind of error can be caused by software glitches, sensor issues, or settings conflicts. Here are a few suggestions that might help resolve the issue:

1. Restart Your Phone:
Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Try restarting your device to see if that clears the issue.

2. Clean the Fingerprint Sensor:
The fingerprint sensor could be obstructed by dirt or oil. Make sure the sensor area is clean and free of any debris.

3. Re-register Your Fingerprint:
If the sensor isn’t recognizing your fingerprint, try deleting your current fingerprint data and re-registering your finger(s). Go to Settings > Biometrics and Security > Fingerprints to do this.

4. Check for Software Updates:
Sometimes, bugs are addressed in follow-up patches. Check if there are any pending software updates under Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

5. Clear Cache Partition:
Wiping the cache partition can resolve issues caused by corrupt cached data. To do this, turn off your device, then press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears. Navigate to Wipe Cache Partition using the volume buttons and select it with the Power button.

6. Reset Gestures and Fingerprint Settings:
If gestures aren't working, try resetting the gesture settings and ensure that Gestures are enabled under Settings > Display > Navigation Bar.

7. Factory Reset (Last Resort):
If nothing works, you might need to perform a factory reset to eliminate any deep software issues. Backup your data first, then go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory Data Reset.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it could be related to a hardware malfunction, and you may need to contact Samsung support for further assistance.

@MrXGeekX Some clarification here, your steps 2 and 3 won't resolve the issue. Those would only clear the issue if the fingerprint (FP) wasn't recognized. The OP's FP sensor isn't working so they never get to the point of actually reading the FP.

The Step 6 you mention isn't applicable because FP sensor gestures is not in that menu. Since the sensor isn't working, the gestures aren't going to work either.

@useru4Ofr615h2 Have you tried running the FP sensor diagnostic test in the Samsung Members app?
