After writing on a screen from the gallery, I can save the picture by clicking "save", but I have no idea how to retrieve the altered pic. Where is it saved to? Thanks!

I don't know about your phone, but on mine it saves it to which ever gallery you pulled the picture from. If you marked up a photo from your camera, it goes to your camera gallery. If you drew on a photo from Screenshots, it saves to my Screenshot gallery.
