How do I determine what measurements are the Ring and which are the watch?

I had just received a Galaxy ring for Christmas I just wanted to know if I put my heart rate and stress monitoring on for continuous does that mean it's running off my watch or my ring? 

And when it says watch/band does that mean the ring or something else?

If you’re wearing both the watch and ring at the same time from my understanding the measurement will come from the watch and the ring sensors will turn off.  If I’m correct the ring will only measure when it’s the only device that have on

But the thing is that I want to wear my ring without my watch but to have these features turned on so does that mean that the ring has all these features as well and can I do it without the watch or must I need the watch?

Yes the ring will do heart rate and everything the watch does they automatically turn on when it’s the only device you have on
