If you're unable to receive videos in text messages (SMS/MMS) on your Galaxy S20+ Android device but can receive them in FB Messenger, there are a few things you can check and try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) settings: Make sure your MMS settings are configured correctly. To do this:

    • Open the Messages app on your Galaxy S20+.
    • Tap the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner.
    • Go to "Settings" > "More settings" > "Multimedia messages."
    • Ensure that MMS is enabled and that there are no specific restrictions set.
  2. Check mobile data and signal strength: MMS messages require mobile data to be enabled. Ensure that you have an active mobile data plan and that your phone has a stable internet connection or a strong cellular signal.

  3. Verify APN settings: Access Point Name (APN) settings control how your device connects to the mobile network. Incorrect or outdated APN settings can lead to MMS issues. To check APN settings on your Galaxy S20+:

    • Go to "Settings" > "Connections" > "Mobile networks" > "Access Point Names."
    • Ensure that the correct APN for your carrier is selected or manually enter the correct settings if necessary. You can find the correct APN settings on your carrier's website or by contacting their customer support.
  4. Clear the Messages app cache: Sometimes, cache data can cause issues with the messaging app. Clearing the cache might help. Here's how:

    • Go to "Settings" > "Apps."
    • Find and select the "Messages" app.
    • Tap "Storage" > "Clear cache."
  5. Update your phone's software: Keeping your device's software up to date can fix bugs and improve overall performance, including messaging issues. Check for any available software updates by going to "Settings" > "Software update" > "Download and install."

  6. Try a different messaging app: If the issue persists, try using a different messaging app from the Google Play Store, such as Google Messages, to see if the problem is specific to the default messaging app on your phone.

  7. Contact your carrier: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there might be an issue on your carrier's end. Contact your mobile carrier's customer support and explain the problem you're experiencing. They may be able to assist you further and check if there are any account-related or network-related issues causing the problem.
