Galaxy S PhonesSo I am posting here because after research I do not see anyone with this issue and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on what to do to attempt to fix it.
What will happen is my phone will lose internet connection while connected to my Wifi. As shown in the screen shots below it has the Wifi Symbol along with an exclamation mark. When I go to the Wifi settings it states "Internet may not be available"
The only way to fix the issue is to turn the wifi off then back on. Now keep in mind that this does not happen all the time as It will happen spoardically throughout the day and there does not seem to be a specific app that causes this. This has happened while browsing the internet on multiple different browsers and it has happened while watching videos in applications such as Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, Hulu, etc.... This issue only seems to be affecting my galaxy S8 as the other devices on my network does not have this issue including my old Samsung S7 Edge.
What I have tried is the following in no particular order
- Turned the phone off/on
- Cleared browser cache
- Cleared the cache partition
- Reset my wifi connections
- Factory reset my phone
- Reset my router
- Verified my Router Firmware was up to date
- Had Verizion send me a replacement phone. Same issue happens
My Router is the Google Onhub

Galaxy S PhonesI have a Netgear Orbi router with the latest firmware still same issue.
i have tried every possible option to fix this and nothing works.
Netgear is getting ready to send me a new unit but i feel bad as i know for a fact this is a samsung issue. i did notice that this also started happening after the latest update from tmobile. I am going to get rid of this samsung phone and never ever purchase a samsung product again. Their marketing is amazing but their products are garbage. SAMSUNG either fix this or stop making phones.

Galaxy S PhonesDear Samsung,
For all of the reasons articulated below, after 12 years of owning Samsung Cell Phones, I am now a very happy
iPhone 8 customer. An unthinkable change for my 6 cell phone family, until now!
Selling something is doing something for someone not doing something to someone. Everyone has a customer and is a customer to someone else. Customers are usually thought of as external to an organization that needs their product or services. What a customer is willing to pay measures the value in most companies. Paying the price commitment commands has payoffs worth the cost to successful companies.
I once heard someone say that all sales really is, is a transfer of trust. That stuck with me. Trust is something that is very difficult to find and being known as trustworthy is even harder. Integrity and trustworthiness are things one earns over a long period of time by a series of repeated actions. Putting the customer first and understanding their needs then properly communicating it to a team that creates a result where both you and your customer reach your goals is how one should establish this covenant.
The key to the transfer of trust metaphor is to understand from the customer's perspective that this is a difficult thing to do. Ask yourself…. how many times have I had to transfer or relinquish trust over....it’s not easy. For someone to give you that level of trust is a privilege and one you never take for granted or take advantage of. Profitable relationships are built on trust, integrity and always doing the right thing.
The basic philosophy, spirit, and drive of an organization have far more to do with its relative achievements than do technological or economic resources, organizational structure, innovation, and timing. All these things weigh heavily in success. But they are, I think, transcended by how strongly the people in the organization believe in its basic precepts and how faithfully they carry them out. The most important single factor when it comes to individual contribution is COMMITMENT and I have witnessed first handed that it is the unyielding COMMITMENT from people that ignites action. I propose the following statement depicts the value proposition of any successful Company; the culmination of expertise and dedication of people working to find innovative solutions that consistently and reliably achieve the high standards customers demand.

Galaxy S PhonesDeleting stored fingerprints and choosing a pin code to unlock eliminated the continual internet via wifi disconnection issue for me for about 10 hours. Now the issue is back worse than ever.
My phone is only 11 days old and this issue has existed since day 1 of inbox and update.
Returning the S8 tomorrow and switching to an iPhone after 5 years of Samsung Android use.
Never using Samsung again.

Galaxy S PhonesHi-
I am experiencing the same symptom on my S8 from AT&T.
I have 2 Access Points running 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz signals under the same SSID.
- Inside Access Point: 5Ghz & 2.4Ghz (AC)
- Outside Access Point: 2.4Ghz (N)
DHCP and DNS are provided by the Inside Access Point; the Outside Access Point is on the same LAN (i.e., not a separate IP range). The S8 has a static DHCP reservation.
I can't reliably reproduce the symptom, but I notice it when I move from outdoors to indoors (or vice-versa). I am speculating that switching Access Points or 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz might play a role. The S8 is the only device on my network that experiences this symptom.
Has anyone called Samsung Support to troubleshoot this?

Galaxy S PhonesI continue to experience this symptom, although perhaps not as frequently. However, I have noticed that the symptom occurs when I make or receive a phone call while connected to WiFi. Has anyone else noticed this?

Galaxy S PhonesFresh out of the box, I could connect to my home wifi, but not others and when did connect, it says internet may not be available. you know what that means? Couldn't do the required software updates in order to install any of my previous info from my old phone since that massive update had to be done over wifi. Even tried doing the update with the smart switch on my laptop and it would download, but would freeze when it would try to install. Ended up having to return, and order another one. but on the bright side with this one I get the free Gear VR promo. But I'm hoping this phone doesn't have the same issue or I'll be PISSSSSSSSSSED. #wtfsamsung

Galaxy S Phonesyes, this is a BIG deal to me. I have multiple access points and am always within easy range. I do this to avoid Mobile data charges. This has worked well for me the last 5 years with other phones.
We have 3 new S8+ and one S8.
They drop wifi like crazy, every hour, at least, even if the phone is 10 feet from access point.
My only alternative at this time is to leave mobile data turned off, this seems to work.
I have worked in IT for over 30 years, and have worked as support for several major phone companies.
Since there in tens of millions of dollars at stake each day for mobile data,
I feel very suspicious this is programmed into the $975 phones i have.
I am not happy at all. Will never, ever buy Samsung again. This issue is easily discovered within days....by anyone concerned with mobile data cost. I would bet they had many meetings on this and determined to drop the connection frequently.....in the name of revenue....The people who went "unlimited" could care less.

Galaxy S PhonesSymptom: The wifi just disconnects and then reconnects at a frequency of every few minutes. When it disconnects, a small escalation mark appears on the right down corner of the wifi sign.
Solution: I found that the IP address assigned by my router is always 192.168.0.100, which is in conflict with my PC. In the past, if two devices share the same IP, the second device would just be assigned to another IP. But somehow this doesn't work. So i went to the router setting page and bind my S8+ with another fixed IP address. And this solved the problem permanently.
