Home screen dark area

I've noticed there is a dark area on the top half of my home screen that I can't get rid of. It's only on my home screen and disappears when I open an app, anyone know how to fix it?

@Badger1979 It's caused by the widget that you have on the top half of the screen showing the temperature. You can long press on it and delete the widget.

Ah that looks like it's sorted it thanks, I tried deleting it before but it didn't work, I just needed to restart my phone as well for some reason.
