No longer have visual display for notification after phone reset (S10e)

I recently had to reset my phone. Now, when the phone recv's a notification, it rings, AND vibrates, & the display no longer lights up. I REALLY need that visual display, because 98% of the time, it HAS to be on silent, or vibrate ...not audible whatsoever!

Are these 2 things normal going forward, & I need to get over it, & find/or make a work-around? ...I REALLY HOPE, this isn't the case ...if it is, I'll need to find a different manufacturer ...but if I have to go iOS, then I'll just go w/out a mobile phone.
