Samsung Edge screenshot function is a gigantic step backwards

Upon updating my phone on 2024/10/08, I have observed that the edge panel screenshot function has been removed.

I used this function 5+ times per day. It was easily one of the most useful tools on my phone. 

On the latest update, it has been replaced with some slow-to-operate, bloated AI garbage. 

Please give us the option to use the old tool. 

I don't mind having the new one as an option, but please give us a choice. 

This current iteration is a massive step back in fluidity for user functionality from the previous patch.

Hey Samsung,

dumbest decision to remove the old smart select, i use to boast that feature earlier to non samsung users, now i try to hide when i take a snapshot, it takes ages to take a screenshot, for godsake do your experiments by NOT DISABLING THE OLD FEATURE. pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee give back the old smart select or alteast the option to switch, this is realy bad.

As far as I'm concerned, this AI is just massive bloatware. I don't need to wait for an animation and flashy lights so I can take a snip.

You can keep the new garbage AI select, but at least give us the option to still use the old Smart Select Edge panel.

Let me add to this and say that it's a bad move to remove the edge panel smart capture options. It was so convenient and now it's gone. Stick to what works best and don't remove beloved features.

Agreed, the new 'AI' smart select is far slower.  Please bring back one of my favorite s-pen features.  Very disappointed that Samsung has decided to make my device less usable to appease the buzzword crowd.

For me screen select is the most important feature that I use daily. 

I bought S24 ultra,though it would be better than my note 20, but NO .

I'm really disappointed with my new mobile.

And after removing the panel of it, I'm starting reconsider Samsung.

Where's the functions manager? I think it's high time we have a chat. I can't identify who it's suppose to be. If anybody has an idea what their @ is, please tag them. We as a community need to let Samsung know that the power users are the ones using such features. Don't cram all the useless AI feature to remain relevant when it was never necessary in the first place. Put it into a separate function; don't shove this **bleep** down our throats. (I use smart select rectangle for clipping notes during lectures for my note-taking, waiting 5 seconds to load everytime is unacceptable when the previous iteration allows for clipping almost instantaneously)

I finally downgraded and went back to my Galaxy S9+from my Galaxy S24 Ultra. I thought about upgrading but the new features are not worth it to me. At least I have the original selection tool for now
