Galaxy S PhonesHello, welcome to the Community, and thank you for reaching out about this. I can see how frustrating it is for a feature you are not using to turn itself on, in addition to it causing freezing of the device. One thing to note before troubleshooting is that you can have Wi-Fi Calling on with or without Wi-Fi being turned on. First, have you tried a simple reboot of the device? If you have, you can also try a device cache clear to help improve device behavior:
- Power off your device.
- While the device is powered off, simultaneously press and hold the power and volume up buttons.
- Once the Samsung logo appears, release both buttons. Your device should boot into recovery mode.
Using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select:
- Navigate to "wipe cache partition" and press power.
- Select yes to confirm.
- Navigate down to "Repair apps" and press power.
You can also check out this guide here, with additional troubleshooting to help with both the freezing and the Wi-Fi calling feature turning on automatically: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001416/
If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician.
You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.
