I can't even get it to work. It only works with my text app but I have it set to work with like 30 apps.

Try setting the colors by Keyword. That's what I ended up doing and it works. Don't know why they disabled that part of Edge Lighting. And I wish they would bring back the color wheel so a person could have more color options.
Just in case you need to find Edge Lighting, it's in Settings>Notifications> breif-popup settings. Then choose Color by Keyword and add the app by typing in the name and then hitting the plus button. Once it's added, press the colored dot to chage the color. You can also do this with your contacts. Hope this helps. Good luck!
