Can't use SMS app

Without realizing I was switching from SMS to (Google) RCS text messaging, I updated my text app a couple days ago. I want to go back to SMS. Do I have to use Google RCS messages for texting on my Samsung S21 phone?

You can turn off RCS chats in Google Messages via the Messages Settings. That should result in your texts being SMS.

You can turn off RCS by going into the message settings and the first option is RCS.
