Galaxy S21Goggle moved my to the disabled apps folder.
Go to settings, then homescreen, hide apps, hopefully you will see your messages icon there. click on the red - symbol. Go back to where the apps are that are not part of your home screens. Find messages app, long press and select add to homescreen.

Follow these steps and you'll be as right as rain. If this doesn't work for you, please let us know and we can look into other possible troubleshooting.
