Is there a way to keep my Wi-Fi calling enabled on my Galaxy S21+ One ui 6.1?

Hi,

 
Is there any way at all that I can get WiFi calling to stay enabled under One UI 6.1 withOUT having to restart my phone everytime I come home so that the apps get (re)optimized? Will this issue be (hopefully) resolved in the next update? Seems like a lot of people have been complaining about this from what I've seen.

Have you tried setting the Wi-Fi calling to wi-fi preferred? Mine stays on all the time.

@realaud - That's what I have it set to by default on both phones. If I restart the phone, Wi-Fi calling kicks in without me having to go into the connections setting. At first I thought it was my router so replaced that (under warranty) then I realized the if it were a router issue, a restart of the phone wouldn't temporarily resolve the issue. T-Mobile tier-2 are the folks that found that an app optimization resolves the issue when I want to use Wi-Fi calling.

I have T-Mobile and I keep my wifi calling on at all times, previously on my S10 lite and now my A54. I have it set for mobile preferred and it used to really annoy me that even though I had mobile preferred, T-Mobile would switch me to wifi whenever I was connected to a WiFi network. Now I don't care as long as my calls come in and go out.

Are you saying your problem is now resolved? If not, have you checked your intelligent wifi settings? Try turning off "switch to mobile data" and see if that helps.

My problem goes away after a restart. Thanks for the intelligent WiFi suggestion..... I'll check it out even though I've never knowingly changed it.

I'm not sure that particular intelligent wi-fi setting isn't enabled by default.

Tried disabling intelligent WiFi .... didn't help. Still had to restart to get WiFi calling to engage. Strange part is that this is random. Sometimes this works fine other times not.

If this started after the 6.1 update, you might want to try deleting the cache partition. If that doesn't help, you can try resetting the network connection. If a restart temporarily fixes it, for how long? If it works for a full day, you might want to set your phone to auto restart just before or just after you wake up daily in the auto optimization settting.
