Power switch doesn’t bring phone up

My wife just got a new S21. Sometimes the power switch won’t bring up the display. I have tried the soft reset to no avail. Thanks

can you check out the button and see if dust or something got stuck in it ? press the button a few times fast in case theres something blocking it also see screen shots attached...

also does the phone have a case ? try removing case and see what happens with power button.

I checked out both these items. The phone is new so the button was clean. Tried without the case. I think this malfunction has to do with firmware. Thank you both

Just in case there was a missed step - using the steps above, if "double press" is not selected the power button will only turn the phone off(press and hold) or open bixby.
