Transfer file from downloads

I am having zero luck trying to transfer a file from internal storage>downloads to my home page.  Seems like it should be so easy, but using My Files is not getting me anywhere.

Are you trying to create a shortcut on the home screen page to a file in My files?

@davej1030 There isn't a way to transfer it as far as I know. If you want a shortcut to the file on your home page, try this:

1. Open My Files
2. Find the file you want on your home page
3. Long press on the file until it is selected.
4. Go to the 3 dot More menu in lower right. 
5. Click on Add to Home screen.

I am probably missing something here but I am not seeing the add to home page option when I long press and go to the three dot menu (which is in the upper right).  There are a bunch of options but none are to add to the home page.

Never mind - I tried again and saw the 3 dot menu on the lower right.  That worked to add to the home screen!  Really appreciate the help.
