From what I have heard the 4.0 update gives the s20 note access to eSim function. Does anyone know if the update will do the same for s21 and s20's?

S21 - yes - there is now a "SIM Card Manager" option under Connections.

Thank you for your response. I have one clarifying question.

I have an s20+ and I'm trying to figure out if I'll need to upgrade to get the feature or not. I ordered a s20 Note, that will be here Monday, but I don't need the sPen and would rather just keep my phone.
Do you know if this will be added to the s20 phones as well?

.
It's my understanding the s20+ has dual SIM and also eSIM ... though I've read "it depends on carrier and world location".

However, eSIM is also a "software feature that must be enabled to use" ...

IOW, my 21 Ultra Unlocked has eSIM, but I could not configure for it on Android 11 One UI 3.X, because the option didn't exist in the Settings menu. Now it does.

SideNote: I've always opted for S-Pen capable phones - can't do without it 👍

From my understanding Samsung's actually have esim built in they have for several iterations now it's all about the US carriers supporting esim which they do not

According to my att store, iPhone has been using eSim for a few generations now. It sounds like they are starting to support it on samsung now with the new 4.0 update.
