I'm starting a new thread that @Ashbrown99  previously started, but was closed prematurely.  I've had this issue for 2 years now and have not found a solution yet. I can add my contacts to the Allowlist, but then they just disappear. I've tried rebooting my phone, clearing my cache, and even wiping and starting all over again. Yes... my phone is up-to-date. Nothing has worked. I know there is a 'workaround" but that's not a fix and I'm not interested in it. Does anyone know how to resolve this or is it still something Samsung has to fix?

Finally, @Samsung_Moderator, DO NOT TELL ME TO SUBMIT AN ERROR REPORT, THEN MARK THIS ISSUE/THREAD AS RESOLVED! THAT IS NOT A RESOLUTION, BECAUSE NOTHING WAS RESOLVED!

You MUST submit an error report.  The only way to resolve this would be to submit an error report.  There is nothing else anyone here can do for you, as this is a user to user help forum, NOT Samsung technical support, which is why the moderators make the suggestion and then close the thread.  Submit the error report, contact Samsung directly, or do text support.  If you do not contact Samsung directly by one of their contact means, you will never get your  issue resolved.

Thank you for your suggestion...

I know exactly what this form is, and I was asking if anyone else had a resolution, since I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS THIS ISSUE! Furthermore, if the only way to resolve anything is to contact Samsung Support, then what is the reason for these forums?!

There are certain issues that other users can help with. Anything having to do with the software they cannot. You have already stated you wanted a fix, not a workaround (which in My mind is the same thing if it solves the issue). Therefore, your only recourse is to contact Samsung support by one of their contact methods. Putting in the error report also helps them to determine if it's a random or a widespread problem that they need to address in an update or a patch.

@realaud I contacted Samsung Support and they were of no help. They told me that I need to send my phone in for "repair", and that I would have to pay for it since it's out of warranty. This is not a HARDWARE issue, it's a SOFTWARE issue, and I should not have to send it in for "repair". I think I got some level ZERO tech support that didn't know what he was talking about.

Anyway, I know how to resolve it, I'm buying a Pixel...

You say you are not the only one having this problem. In all the time I've been in this forum, yours is the only complaint I have seen on this matter.  You say you've been having the problem for two years - the time to have contacted Samsung support would have been when it was under warranty and then you would not have to pay for a repair.  Of course, you would have to pay for a repair now. You do not know it's not a hardware issue that is somehow interfering with the software.

You also say you know there's a workaround, but you are not interested in it.  A workaround, as I stated before, is a solution if it accomplishes what you need - i.e. keep your contacts in the DND exceptions.

You are free to use your own solution of buying another brand of phone, but it's like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

@realaudSeriously? Have you searched this forum? Do you see that someone else just responded to this thread with the EXACT same issue?!?!

You are right about one thing, I should have contacted support when it happened, but I thought it was an update issue and that it would be resolved. Also, it was my understanding that their support was a nightmare to contact. I won't say it was a nightmare, but they were useless...

A workaround is like a detour... Let's say you drive 10 miles to work, it takes 40 minutes, and you have to cross a bridge to get there. Well, that bridge just got taken out by a cargo ship. Now, instead of driving 10 miles, you have to drive 45 miles. Not only do you drive 45 miles, but so do the other 10,s of thousands of other drivers that used that bridge. On top of that, you and those 10's of thousands, are now combined with the 10's of thousands that ALREADY use that route. Now, your 40 min drive is 2+hrs. Do you see where I'm going here???

So now I have two options, continue driving 2+hrs (use the "workaround"), or find a new job that is closer, and doesn't require crossing either bridges (Pixel). I'll save my nose, and my sanity...

I'll keep this phone for a back up. As for you, just keep trolling these forums for free, with your sad little boring life. Best of luck...
