Lately I've been noticing several pics in albums disappearing, and some albums disappearing completely. I thought putting pics in albums was a good way to quickly find them. I don't know what's happening but it's really pissing me off. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Do you have your gallery synced with Google Photos or OneDrive? Have you been doing "house cleaning" by deleting photos from those places? If you are syncing with a cloud service, deleting photos from within that service will also delete it from your phone. If you delete it from your phone, however, they remain in backup, but not on your phone. You can check the trash in gallery and restore any photos from the trash. They are kept for 30 days from deletion. Theoretically, you can restore them, but I have never found where they were restored to.
@Tommynei After you move an item to an album, are you deleting them from Recents?
Don't do that. Recents is a virtual folder showing items per a Samsung algorithm. Photos do not exist in Recents, but instead reside in their actual albums. If you swipe up on a photo in Recents you will see the album that the photo actually resides in.
Recents is not duplicate photos. Items in Recents does not take up extra storage.
I think people should hide the recents "album" from the gallery main page, by selecting either hide album, or selecting essential albums and then deselecting recents. It would do a lot to alleviate their confusion over whether something is a duplicate.
