How to get rid of the 5 app icons & "trending searches" in Google widget search

Out of nowhere today I went to use my Google search widget on my Galaxy S22 and it has an annoying row of 5 app icons that have never been there as well as a list of "trending searches....". I would like to get rid of them if someone knows how. Screenshot attached. Thanks

You might give this a try.
Tap "G" icon on the top left >> tap your profile icon on the top right >> Settinngs >> General >> Autocomplete settings >> toggle both off.

Trending searches is done through the Google settings menu
