Keyboard covering text box in Messages

I just noticed in my text messages when typing the text box only get so big then I can't see the words because they are under the keyboard. But if I close the keyboard I can see the words. It didn't do this before. I think the app updated and now is doing it. Is there a way to change it back?

I had the same issue.  The fix for me  was to do a restart on my phone.   Samsung support wanted me to  downgrade my OS. That didn't make sense to me.  I said no, then another level of support wanted to remote into my phone, and I said absolutely no and that I would take it to a Verizon store. As a last effort, I restarted my phone and the issue went away.

Over the last week or two, when typing a text message, chat screen, etc, the text does not scroll, such that once it gets down to the keyboard it then disappears under the keyboard and you can't see what you are typing. If you make the keyboard floating and move it around, the text is still there, but this is not a fix. Have tried clearing cache, changing keyboards, etc., this is not the issue. I've seen many other people complaining of the same thing. Is a fix in the works?

Is this the Samsung keyboard? This just in the past few days seems to have become a widespread issue. I know the Samsung keyboard does not come wit arrow keys. but the Swiftkey and Google keybaords do. They can act as a tab by clicking on the down arrow to make it to the cursor go to the end of the existing text.

I've actually tried both Samsung keyboard and Gboard, same behavior. There is something else going on.

Ok, but have you tried using the Swiftkey keyboard which has arrows keys I suggested to act as kind of a tab feature? Also the Gboard has a floating keyboard feature where it an be moved to another part of the screen while typing, under the modes settings=. If the text then still stops scrolling with the KB out of the way, then that is definitely another issue.

Anyway, here is a screenshot of the Swiftkey keyboard, note the arrow keys at the bottom of it.

Yes, I know about floating keyboard and can use it to move out of the way to type, but it is far from preferred, the issue just need to be fixed. As you mentioned, it seems widespread after some recent update. Have used Swiftkey before, I know it, don't prefer it but will give it a shot.

Try restarting your phone.  The exact same thing frustrated me for 2 days and then I restarted, and all is solved.

Me as well. The text stops scrolling down. Can no longer see what I'm typing

I have the same problem with my s23. Samsung needs to fix this problem as it appears to be a problem for many users.
