Asking on behalf of my husband as he’s had to rush off to work.  His phone has been on perfect working order up until last night, only a year old, no new apps have been installed recently.

His alarm didn’t go off, so checked his phone and it’s dead. Been on a wireless charger all night, so the first thing we did was plug it in and leave it for half an hour, still nothing.

the phone is definitely off as I tried to ring, so it’s not just a black screen.
tried hard resetting, but the phone is just completely dead.

what could have happened overnight for the phone to just die like that??

Was his phone planning an update? If so the update might have bricked it because of a bad update.

update - asked him, he said no update was planned 🤷‍:female_sign:

Annoyingly I don’t know if it was planning an update.. but that’s the only conclusion I could come to as well!

I hope her husband has most of his data backed up into his Samsung account if he has one you might have to replace it through their insurance from T-Mobile or upgrade to a newer phone for him

1st I'll ask, No Back Up. WHY? Then let me ask, Are you sure it does not backup?

He doesn't have a Samsung account, so I’m assuming you need that to back up to the cloud? I could be wrong!
Luckily not too long ago I told him to move any important photos from his phone to his computer, so at least we still have those.

Hey there! I can absolutely understand the importance of needing your phone to work! If you haven't already went through the process of getting a replacement with your insurance I would suggest having a certified technician take a look at it!

You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by calling customer support at 1-800-726-7864. For service outside the U.S., please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html I do apologize for any inconvenience.
