Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra no longer showing read receipts with family

All of a sudden when I send messages especially to my family who all have samsung phones it doesn't show "read" anymore. What could be issue and what could be issue? TIA!

I noticed with the new update 8 did last night. mine doesn't show read or sent either

Mine also with the last update and all my ppl have it enabled to work we have all checked

Mine has done the same thing since the last update. My wife is on my plan and has the exact same phone and we both checked, and the read text message is toggled on. I was texting her earlier in the day and it was working showing sent, delivered, ect but after the update it stopped working for both of us. This shows it has something to do with the update. Really would like to know the fix for this.

So is it even an option since the system update? I have s22 ultra and I have looked under EVERYTHING and I don't have the option for anything matching the options for enabling I've read online.

this issue alone is the decider in me not buying a Samsung again.  I lost read receipts in August, still don't have them with many users, and I'll be buying a Google phone soon.  I've had Samsung for 15 years but I'm sick of their controlling BS
