Galaxy S22Hi all
About Ethernet Tethering
(No USB Ethernet Adaptor Connected)
I need to share the network with my Samsung Galaxy S9+ phone without installing a SIM card.
On
Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
Ethernet Tethering
No USB Ethernet Adaptor Connected
is greyouted. What is "USB Ethernet Adaptor" ?
On my Samsung Galaxy S9+ phone, if with SIM card inserted, it doesn't need an "USB Ethernet Adaptor" for sharing the network.
Please advise. Thanks
Regards

Galaxy S22@userUiv8ZXOAs7 it seems like the solution for you is to use Wifi hotspot.
- On your S22 open Settings.
- Click on Connections
- Click on Mobile hotspot and tethering
- Click on Mobile Hotspot
- You can set the network name and password.
- On your S9+ join the Wifi network you created on your S22.

Galaxy S22Tethering is a term specifically for sharing an internet connection using a cable. This option therefore requires a cable. There is also the option for WiFi hotspot, this option, as the name implies, uses WiFi to share the internet. LongHiker as graciously given you the steps to setup this type of connection. Once setup, you can add the option to turn this on or off in the Notification Shade (the window that comes up when you swipe down from the top of the screen). Note that your cellular plan must support this for this to work.
