I've been a loyal samsung phone user for as long as I can remember and I've never had a complaint until now. The latest 6.1 update is trash. I can no longer here my samsung message notifications and I'm being forced to use Google messages.
Samsung Messages is just a fork of Google Messages. Samsung's version isn't even fully baked like Google Messages and you have more features inside Google messages. You also should turn on the notifications for the app.
Googleās version is "collect all" if in America's digital prison forced on you. Overseas Google is micromanaged. Especially the invasion of privacy stuff. Their terms of service state they are saving everything you do, who you know, and the ability to locate you on their servers. In S. Korea, their privacy laws do not allow for it.
On my S23U nonUS model, I still have Samsung messages and no Google account. I delete it after each usage and sign back in only when I need to. I'm not forced to use Google anything. The initial sign-in was a very short process. Didn't need a web connection or sim card. Didn't have to sign in to Samsung either.
