Greetings, Samsung Community Members.

I am in need of assistance with a very vexxing YouTube problem.
Recently, the sound, on the YouTube app, on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone, has stopped working. Try as I might, I cannot get the sound, to come back on. I have been in contact with customer service technicians at Google, who can't seem to help me to restore the sound to the YouTube app on my phone.

I was wondering, if anyone else, who owns a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone, or 'any' Samsung phone 'period', has experienced this somewhat vexxing annoyance, and if they could possibly, provide a solution to my particularly exasperating problem?

Thanking you, in advance, for your time.

Respectfully...

I cannot speak for your direct issue but I would recommend when going to the application information in your settings trying to clear the cache and data also if you are unable to uninstall it from the Play store and reinstall it when you are also in the same area to clear cache and data there should be three dots at the upper right and it should say uninstall updates I would try that to see if it restores the sound and then maybe reinstall the updates could have gotten corrupted

I don't use the YouTube app since I usually use a web browser to view YouTube content. Have you tried using a browser?

On my phone (S23+), YouTube can't be uninstalled, but it can be hidden or disabled.

To disable YouTube, just long press on its icon and tap "Disable". Be aware that it may not stay disabled. If it gets updated, you may have to go back and disable it again.

If you just want to hide it, go to your app drawer and tap the three-dots menu on the right side of the search bar. Under Settings, go to Hide apps on Home and Apps Screen. On the list of apps that comes up, just select the ones that you don't want to see anymore. Tap "Done" when you're finished.

I hope this helps you.
