Galaxy S23

Every since updating to this verson, The most significant features i use are circle to search and the lockscreen widgets. Some bugs: slow charging speed, crappy lockscreen widget animations. And slightly more battery drain. Fix this samsung.

Why are the icons so small? Is that a bug?

From the perspective of a user, I have primarily negative feedback about the navigation bar in this new UI 6.1. Why was an option to hide the navigation buttons removed? If we enable swipe gestures, it will take some time to get used to, but even once you do, swiping on the sides of the screen to navigate back a page on both sides of the screen is unnecessary. Did the developers not think about the perspective of using an app and swiping the side of the screen to access the left navigation pane for more info? For example, in the native weather app, with the older UI, you could swipe the left side of the screen to access the left side of the navigation pane to see a list of cities, but now you have to press the button in the very top left to access that panel because swiping the left side of the screen will minimise the app. Please send another patch and enable the option to hide the buttons as it used to be, or simply tweak some settings with the swipe gestures that allow you to minimise the app only on one side of the screen. I am not going to mention the battery drain issues on my S23 Ultra because other users have already mentioned them. Cheers!

Samsung, why? You could have provided both swipe from sides /and/ swipe from bottom options and let the (how many?) users stick with their muscle memory, not to mention most people hold their phones from the side, so meaty hands get in the way of side swipe. This is so aggravating.

That was my immediate reaction, because I use the navbar so much. After an hour, I can say it is much, much worse. Other apps use the sides, making it random whether you navigate vs use in-app functionality. Just try using YouTube in portrait mode.

Is there any way for a user to force a rollback on their own device?

Want to improve battery life by closing all running apps? Not from the main screen you don't! Because swipes don't work on the main icon screen, the UI just thinks you want to move screens (even if you are on the last one)

I literally came here for the sole purpose of complaining about the navigation bar. This needs more attention.

Yeah, big step backwards in UI design. Clearly they don't use their own software and are just trying to make things more like Apple. If I wanted an apple phone I would have bought an apple device. I loved the speed and ease of use of the swipe up navigation option, but now it is so broken. Thankfully the old school button options are still there, but man... It really is old school. Such a waste of space. Time to move back to a pixel device on my next upgrade. They still have the navigation options I use.

My s23u just updated. The design here just makes no sense with respect to the removal of the swipe-up navigation. Why make it less intuitive?

I would like the option to have the swipe gesture navigation available from before. It's really inconvenient to quickly flip between apps if I have to hold the home gesture and having the back gesture be anywhere along the edge of the screen makes it harder to pull out the side bar quickly and without accidentally going back first. I don't like the buttons being onscreen, which is why I haven't used them since having a Samsung phone!
