Why is the 5g standalone on and blacked out ? What if I wanted to try 4g or 2g ? That possibly could be why I can't get connection in my building ...

I don't think you understand how a cellphone network works.

For your consideration.

Your carrier offers 4g or 5g in your area and switches your phone from tower to tower as you travel, using whichever tower is available and/or has the strongest signal available. You don't have the option to choose how the signal will be handled. 3g and 2g really don't exist in the US any longer. Being inside a building with no windows, underground, or being made of heavy concrete and/or steel can block or bounce the cellphone signal making cell reception iffy, if not impossible.

If you haven't already, please contact your carrier, you may need a new chip or they may to do something on their end.
