  • After the new update to my phone I have a clock that shows up with the time that then I have to get out of just to goto my lock screen. https://imgur.com/a/u0YHmL0 example of what's going on. I have already messed with hecka things in my settings. Even rebooted my phone and I thought it worked, but then it came back. How can I get rid of this. My wife's phone did the same update but hers didn't do this.

Looks like your AOD is on.  You can turn it off by going to settings/lock screen and AOD and turning off the slider next to Always On Display.

I tried that already. Still stayed on.

Just took these

Edit: I've also reset my phone twice and thought that fixed it but it reverted back to that.
At one point it was even bumping me out of anything on my phone and going to that screen1738156846823.jpg1738156846846.jpg

Well, that's definitely the AOD.  Have you deleted the phone's cache partition after the update?

1. Power off your Galaxy phone.  Restart the phone by holding the power and volume up buttons simultaneously.

2. Let go of both buttons when you see the Samsung Logo appear on screen. There will be a delay while it enters recovery mode.

3. Use the volume buttons to navigate through recovery menu options and highlight “Wipe Cache Partition.” Press power button to select this option . Confirm by navigating to the yes response and tapping the power button to select.

5. When wiping cache partition is complete, "reboot system now" should be highlighted; press power key to select it. The phone will reboot as normal.

As a general rule, it's not a bad idea to wipe the cache after an update completes, but certainly it should be one of the first troubleshooting steps if something goes awry after an update.

Ahh thank you. It worked. I was really getting frustrated. My battery is already depleted from that nonsense. Ugh.
I appreciate you. Thank you🙏🙏🙏

Well, then I only have two other suggestions:

1. Put in an error report with Samsung through the support tab of the members app and/or

2. Factory reset the phone and restore your backup.

Well, actually, there's a third suggestion.

3. Live with the AOD and customize it to something more esthetic. You can download Good Lock/Lock star and add an image, change the clock color/style.  Many people actually like the AOD, but just as many people don't.  I find, on my phone at least, that the AOD does not significantly reduce my battery life.  If your battery life is suffering, it might be because of the brightness of the AOD - you can adjust this as well in Good Lock.

If you unlock your phone with your fingerprint, you can choose to have the fingerprint scanner always on so you can just bypass the lock screen completely by unlocking with your fingerprint.  You can make it invisible on the AOD/when the screen is off, and you just have to press the approximate location on the screen to unlock.  You would find both options in the fingerprints setting.

Ok nevermind yall. I figure it out. My child downloaded an AOD app that took over. It's weird because it's like it didn't work prior to this update. I deleted said app. But will remember this cache partition stuff whenever there is another update
