Hello Community!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE that I love. I also create content online using my phone. I have found that the internal microphone is not sufficient for my long term content - So I bought a USB-C microphone that works via Bluetooth.

However, when I try to connect the device via Bluetooth, it does not show up.

I thought that maybe it auto-paired just by being plugged in, so I went into Advanced Video and tried to change my microphone from OMNI to USB or Bluetooth and it wouldn't let me.

The microphone manual says that some OTG functions need to be turned on, but when I search OTG in settings, nothing comes up.

Any guidance on how I could get this external microphone to work would be appreciated.

Issue solved itself! FYI - this seems to be related to the known Bluetooth connection bugginess. Highly recommend this video for solves if you need it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKKmOCvu5-A

To get your USB-C Bluetooth microphone working with your Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, here are a few steps you can try:

1. Check for Bluetooth Pairing:

Ensure your Bluetooth microphone is in pairing mode. If it's not appearing in the Bluetooth list, it may need to be manually paired first.

Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, and ensure Bluetooth is turned on. Look for your microphone in the list of available devices and try pairing it.

2. Check for USB OTG Settings:

While the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE doesn't have a specific "OTG" toggle in the settings, it generally supports USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality natively.

You should ensure that your USB-C Bluetooth adapter or USB microphone is working properly with the device.

3. Use USB Audio Settings:

In your camera or video app (like the Samsung Camera or any content-creation app), go to the audio settings and look for options to select external microphones. Often, the microphone is auto-detected, but you may need to manually switch to it in the app's settings.

4. Try USB Audio Adapters (if needed):

If you're using a USB-C to USB-A adapter for the microphone, try plugging the microphone directly into the USB-C port to bypass any potential issues with adapters.

5. App Permissions:

Check if the apps you're using to create content have the proper permissions to access the microphone. Go to Settings > Apps, select your content creation app, and ensure the microphone permission is enabled.

If these steps donā€™t resolve the issue, try using a different USB-C microphone or Bluetooth device to see if the problem persists. Some apps or settings on your device may not be fully compatible with certain external microphones.
